Motorola is known to be working on a number of upcoming smartphones, including the Moto E4 and E3 Plus, as well as the successor to last year's flagship Moto Z. But a new report reveals that the Moto C and Moto C Plus are also on the way.
The Moto C and Moto C Plus will be Motorola's cheapest smartphones to date, although their actual price is unknown at this point. With the new smartphones, Motorola is aiming to target first-time smartphone users, which means the devices certainly won't include the latest specs or components.
The difference between the Moto C and Moto C Plus won't be about the screen size, but the internal components of the new devices. Both smartphones will have the same 5-inch display size, but the pixels will differ. The Moto C will have a FWVGA resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, while the C Plus will feature an HD resolution on the screen, which means 1280 x 720 pixels.
Other differences between the two phones are found in terms of internal components. The Moto C Plus will be a 4G LTE device, while the standard Moto C offers 3G and 4G configurations. Moving on to the processor architecture, the Moto C will feature a MediaTek SoC with a 32-bit octa-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz, while the Moto C Plus's internal chipset features a 64-bit CPU clocked at the same speed. The 4G variant of the Moto C will have a 64-bit configuration clocked at 1.1GHz.
The standard Moto C will come with 1GB of RAM, while the memory on the Moto C Plus will vary between 1GB or 2GB depending on the region. The C Plus will offer 16GB of internal memory, while the Moto C will feature 8GB or 16GB of storage, depending on the region. All versions will offer the ability to expand the memory using a microSD.
