Microsoft will begin the official rollout of Windows 10 Creators Update on April 11, and of course it will be an important moment for the company and its customers, as it is the second major release after the Anniversary Update.
But there are many who wonder what is going to happen after the release of the Windows 10 Creators Update, mainly because Microsoft has not mentioned anything about its long-term plans for Windows 10.
However, with the Build conference taking place this spring, we will definitely learn more of this information, although we already know a couple of features for the upcoming version of the upcoming update.
The next major release after the Windows 10 Creators Update (internally codenamed Redstone 2) is, of course, Redstone 3.
Rumor has it that Redstone 3 development has already begun behind closed doors at Microsoft, and the first build has already been spotted online. However, nothing is official and no details have been leaked yet.
What we do know, however, is that Microsoft's strategy of releasing two different OS versions each year means that in addition to the Creators Update, we will also see a second version in 2017.
Codenamed Redstone 3, the next Windows 10 update is expected to debut in the fall, and while we know little about it, rumors suggest that Microsoft is working on a new shell, as well as a virtual makeover called Project NEON.
Sources say that Microsoft is planning to release Windows 10 Redstone 3 as version 1711, which means we could see it in November. Obviously, though, it's too early to talk about Redstone 3's release date.
On the other hand, the first build for Insiders is likely to be released right after the Creators Update is released. Of course, as you all know, we won't see any major changes in the first build. The most significant improvements and changes are expected in the summer.
