YouPorn, one of the most visited pornographic websites in the world, has decided to partner with HackerOne and launched a bug bounty program with rewards of up to $25,000.
The adult website is just one of the latest tech companies to choose to have their network tested by white hat hackers to help discover and kill any bugs they may find in their system.
The company behind the website says it wants to make sure online visitors are as safe as possible while on their site, so depending on the severity of the bugs found, hackers will be rewarded between $50 and $25,000, maximum, for critical vulnerabilities in their systems.
Alexa ranks YouPorn as the 230thmost visited website in the world, and the site reportedly supports around a billion video views each month. With numbers as high as these, it's no surprise that the company behind the site wants to make sure its users are safe.
YouPorn follows in the footsteps of Pornhub, which launched its own bug bounty program last year for the same reasons. Bug bounty programs have become increasingly popular in recent years. At the top of the list of companies that run their own programs are Google and Facebook, for example, HackerOne helps companies around the world test the security of their systems.
The demand for white hat hackers has increased significantly thanks to such programs, and so have their numbers. Instead of cheating, people with this particular skill set have chosen to help companies provide safer services to people, rather than exploiting vulnerabilities found.
