Some of you may already know that Sony has already started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to its Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ devices. But it seems that the company will not stop at just these two devices.
According to Sony, updates to Google's new Android 7.0 Nougat operating system will continue for additional smartphones. For those interested, the Japanese company has published the following list:
Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia X Compact.
Obviously, the timing and availability of the new operating system will vary by region and carrier. It's also worth mentioning that while the company has stated that most of its models will be supported, there will be exceptions from certain carriers.
As always, these updates will be uploaded to the company's servers on a model-by-model basis, so they won't be released to everyone at the same time. However, according to the company, their distribution to compatible smartphones is a matter of days.
Along with the list of smartphones that will be updated with the new Android 7.0, Sony details some of the features that come with the updated operating system.
