A few days ago, the famous Chinese video game cracking team 3DM announced that they would be taking a year off to support game development companies. Immediately after, there was a lot of talk about 3DM in the forums. Speculations were that their team could not crack the Denuvo protection used by all the latest big games.
These rumors were based on the fact that the 3DM team itself had previously announced that the new anti-tamper technology of the Denuvo protection software is so resistant that in one to two years, PC game piracy will be non-existent.
However, with a new announcement, the cracking group says that they have taken steps to bypass Denuvo protection.
The leader of the group Bird Sister says:
“3DM will soon announce that we have a solution for the latest Denuvo encryption used in games such as: FIFA 16, Just Cause 3 and Tomb Raider: The Rise.”
Bird Sister
“We are making this announcement because many players believe that we have abandoned cracking due to technical issues, but it turns out that is not the case,” Bird Sister continues.
“We are not yet stunned [by the protection measures].”
Despite the fact that this announcement contradicts some of 3DM's previous remarks, the news has been met with disappointment from game developers and publishers, not to mention the Denuvo team.
But we'd better wait. Fully cracking Denuvo is no easy feat, and game developers will surely have hidden thousands of calls.
But if 3DM has finally made a start, there are many Scene groups that like challenges.
Let us recall the scene group Air and the cracking of Steinberg Cubase 5.1 which used Syncrosoft's "unbreakable" protection (Dongle).
We list the Q&A that Air published with the .nfo of the release.
Q: But we had to wait so damn long for this release – Why?
A: The amount of time to analyze and reverse the current
syncrosoft implementation was just that high. Think about it
like this: around 25% of the program code is MCFACT protected
and therefore protection-related. As you can imagine the
effort to analyze and reverse such a target is incredibly
high. This time it took us almost 4000 man hours to emulate
the little beast!
Q: Will it work with the 64bit version? Are there plans to make
a release of the 64bit version?
A: No and No! Nevertheless it will work perfectly as a 32bit
application on a 64bit OS like Windows7.
Q: Why is this release much smaller com
For the record, Syncrosoft boasted that for ten years no one could break its protection. Shortly after the Air crack, the company disappeared.
