It's widely accepted that when your job requires you to sit at a desk all day, it's not the best for your health. Altwork designed the office of the future because, as it claims in its promotional video, everything around us has evolved except the office.
The truth is that it looks like a dentist's chair, it is better called a "workstation" and includes an ergonomic chair, a small desk and a monitor stand. The workstation is on wheels and weighs 95 kg. It has a footprint of 1.67 square meters.
And it's probably designed for those who spend a large part of their lives chained to a computer. The company gives you the option to add additional components, which of course increases the cost.
And speaking of cost, the Altwork is set to retail for $5,900 in the US. If you want to pre-order it now, you'll pay $3,900.
The Altwork station will be available in a few colors, but these have not yet been finalized. First deliveries are expected in mid-2016 for the West Coast of the US, with the rest of the US later. No word yet on Europe.
