When will we see new Microsoft devices with Windows 10? Until now, there were only rumors that the devices, codenamed Cityman and Talkman, would be officially released at the end of September, while some others reported that the smartphones would be announced on October 10.
But Microsoft has come to clear things up, after it began sending out invitations for an event scheduled for October 6.
According to the invite, Microsoft has "some exciting news to share for Windows 10 devices," and it doesn't seem to leave much room for speculation.
It's pretty clear that the Redmond company is planning to unveil the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL on October 6th. It's also possible that it will announce another mid-range device.
Of course, there's also the possibility that it will announce the long-awaited Surface Pro 4 tablet, as well as the official announcement of Windows 10 Mobile.
Even if the new operating system is not released on October 6, Microsoft could announce some details regarding its functionality and when it will be available for download, as a free upgrade, on eligible smartphones.
We should also mention that Microsoft's event will be held in New York.
By October 6th, it is very likely that we will learn more about what the company is preparing.
