Discussions with bold leaders, technical workshops, design sprints, networking opportunities and much more. Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 31, Google's global program and brand, "Women Techmakers" (WTM), which was first introduced in 2012 by then-vice president of Google[x], Megan Smith, finally comes to Greece.
Today, “Women Techmakers” is led by women’s advocate in technology, Natalie Villalobos, along with a global team of Googlers who are passionate about empowering women in technology by increasing their visibility and providing them with a global community and the necessary resources.
Throughout the year, Women Techmakers in Greece will celebrate women in technology and beyond through numerous initiatives such as conferences, seminars, workshops, member representation at various global events, discussions and more. Women Techmakers is an important tool to recognize how women’s presence has impacted the technology industry and beyond.

Google Developers in Thessaloniki, official organizers and supporters of WTM in Greece, aim to highlight the contributions of women in technology through these actions and are excited that these continue to this day. They are proud to have the support of an excellent panel that will attend the opening ceremony tomorrow, at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, Maurice Saltiel Hall (M2M), from 6:30 p.m. The event will also be attended by the United States Consul in Thessaloniki, Mr. Robert P. Sanders, as a guest of honor.

During the Women Techmakers event, a pilot program, the “Interactive Lab,” will be launched in collaboration with Mataroa, who recently organized the successful “Code Girls” program (a program for learning to code exclusively for girls aged 10-16 that took place in Kalamata and Kozani).
The Interactive Lab is an experiment to introduce the girls who attended the Mataroa program and beyond, to the use of the internet and its capabilities with the aim of “teleporting” commands to receiver devices in other parts of the world. For this specific experiment, there will be a robot in Thessaloniki that will receive commands from Kalamata through a specific program.
Admission to Women Techmakers is free but registration is mandatory and can be done either at the Concert Hall or by following this link: https://goo.gl/YwYPqU
