Picture passwords for Windows logins aren't just a fun way to log in: they can also offer more security than regular passwords because they're harder to guess.

With a picture password, you can log in to your computer with your favorite photo instead of a traditional password that you keep forgetting. You choose the picture, the gestures — circles, straight lines, or taps — you use, and the points on the picture where you make them.
You can draw a picture code directly on a touchscreen with your finger, or you can use a mouse to draw the shapes you want. Anyone with a Microsoft account on your PC can set up their own picture code.
To set a code using a picture
- Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings , and then Change PC settings. (If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move your mouse up, tap Settings , and then tap Change PC settings.)
- Tap or click Accounts , and then Sign-in.
- In the Code using an image, tap or click Add.
- Sign in with your Microsoft account information and follow the on-screen steps to select an image and gestures to perform.
