During our internet browsing today, we “stumbled” upon an idea (SaveKids or the Yellow Lily project) that seemed quite familiar to us. So familiar that we were disturbed by the audacity of some to present it as their own.
The idea concerns the development of an application to deal with pedophiles, and we had come across it on the friendly SecNews.gr some time ago. (Our friends from SecNews published it on May 7, 2014.In fact, to support their effort, which we found very interesting, we republished their post with an active reference link to the source of the news.
Today, by sheer chance, we came across a post that states EXACTLY the same things and also gathers 5000 signatures. Of course, the only thing that changes is the name of the application. Even the photo that has been used is from the SecNews.gr publication.
In the above photo we have removed the logos of the two websites that collaborate to present the “original” idea.
Of course, with a little more attention, we discovered something that escaped their notice and proves that their altruistic idea is nothing but a copy paste.
For the sake of truth, we present you a photo from their text.
In his "writing frenzy", the columnist forgot to change "the PedoTarget" to the name of "their" app.
Of course we do not expect it to remain like this after the publication of this article, as some will try to hide their tracks. The case of them deleting the publication and supporting the website that had the idea will probably have to be forgotten for many and various reasons.
1) If they do it, they assume responsibility, and who is doing well with responsibilities these days.
2) Why do it now since if they really wanted to help without other views they would have already done it
In the end, as it appears, when some people have no ideas they consider it very good to copy others' ideas for their own benefit. And we mention for their own benefit because if they really liked the idea and wanted to support it they could have republished the content of SecNews.gr to help their effort.
Let's hope that Google will also locate the post on its own and take the appropriate measures, with its algorithm that doesn't joke.
