According to a report by etnews, Apple has started buying displays from Samsung again because the company can produce them as thin as Apple needs.
According to etnews, there are few Japanese and Taiwanese suppliers who can manufacture and supply such thin displays in large quantities. The industry speculates that one of the reasons Apple decided to turn to Samsung is because it has the ability to produce these displays.
Apple uses these displays in its iPhone, iPad, and new MacBooks, while Samsung uses them in its Galaxy S series.
If the rumors are true and Apple has indeed turned back to Samsung for its displays, then this move is a big one, especially considering what the Cupertino company is doing to distance itself as much as possible from the Korean company.
