Microsoft has released a new update for its Office productivity suite on iOS, bringing Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to version 1.25 on iPhones and iPads.
The new version brings improvements that we first saw at the end of August, so if you're the type of user who wants to keep up with Microsoft news, this update might not be that exciting for you.
On the other hand, if you're new to Office for iOS, version 1.25 brings improvements to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint that refine overall performance on iPhones and iPads, but also adds new features to those devices. What's important to know, however, is that some features are exclusive to iPhones.
First of all, this new version brings support for Edmodo and Tencent for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, so iOS users can save their documents to any of these services.
Additionally, iPhone users will also get a new feature for PowerPointthat improves the behavior of the laser pointer.
Finally, Word is updated with support for Smart Lookup, a new feature that's also available on the desktop and makes it super easy to find information, images, and definitions from the web. All you have to do is long-press on a word or phrase and select Smart Lookup. This feature is exclusive to iPhone.
Just like all other updates, this new update is being pushed through the App Store, so if you already have Office installed, the new version should be installed on your device automatically.
