The Windows 10 Anniversary Update, also known as the first wave of Redstone, or Redstone 1, will be available on August 2 for PCs and mobile devices, but there's one important thing to keep in mind before you save that date.
The Windows 10 Update will be rolled out in stages, so not everyone will get the final build on August 2.

Dona Sarkar, the head of the Windows Insider program, explained in the latest edition of Windows Weekly that Microsoft expects some users to be disappointed not to get the update on August 2nd, but everyone should know that the whole process is happening gradually around the world.
Dona continued by saying:
“It’s going to take some time. We’re going to start with PCs and phones and it’s going to be a global rollout. It’s going to take time. And everyone’s going to be freaking out and wondering, ‘Where’s my update?,’ ‘Is it time yet?’ and ‘It’s not here yet.’”
Insiders will be the first to receive the Windows 10 Update, but as of now, Microsoft hasn't said anything about the final build or the release date. What we do know, however, is that we're in the final stages of development for the Anniversary Update.
No doubt, there will be plenty of users who will be disappointed that Windows 10 will be released in stages, but that makes sense for Microsoft, given that more than 350 million devices are already running the operating system.
