Google offers Uber users free Wi-Fi in cars

The feature is available to users in Philadelphia until the end of the testing period, but may well expand to other regions.

While it may not surprise you too much, the service was called “uberWiFi,” which makes perfect sense, but it wouldn’t have taken them more than 2 minutes to decide.

The service does exactly what you'd expect – it gives Uber users access to the Internet directly from their cars, made possible by Google Apps for Business. The trial began on July 22 and will run until September 1.

The Uber WiFi option will be available directly from the app, and users will need to swipe the “ Wi-Fi ” button at the bottom of the app to hail a car for up to four passengers.
