New Snowden "bombs": DropBox service is "enemy"

In a recent interview with the Guardian newspaper, Edward Snowden argued that the safest option for online file storage are those services that encrypt data before it even reaches their servers.

The former American agent said that, in this way, platforms like Spideroak guarantee the greatest possible protection of personal privacy, since files are sent encrypted from users' devices.

Thus, even if the data is requested by security services, it is technically impossible for them to access it without the consent of its owner, who is the only one who has the encryption "key".

Snowden called DropBox, one of the largest cloud storage services, an "enemy of privacy," citing the fact that the company appointed former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to its board last April, who had advocated for laws that give authorities increased powers to monitor the Internet.
