WordPress 4.2.2 is out now!

WordPress 4.2.2 is out now! – WordPress has just released a minor release. Version 4.2.2 addresses some security issues and resolves 13 issues. For more, see the related note.

But let's look at the improvements of the new version.

• Fixes an emoji loading error in IE9 and IE10 browsers
• Fixes a keyboard shortcut for saving from the Visual editor on Mac
• Fixes oEmbed for YouTube URLs to always add https
• Fixes the way WordPress checks encoding when sending strings to MySQL
• Fixes a bug in the dbname.tablename format
• Uses less memory for regex checking in UTF-8 encoding
• Fixes a problem with the wp_signups table when converting it to utf8mb4
• Performance improvement from get_term_children()
• Fixes one of the attachment URLs that were forced to use https

The platform's developers are known to not make the list of security issues resolved by the new version publicly available, for obvious reasons.

The list of security updates will be released later when they are sure that most people have upgraded their software.

Those of you who use WordPress would be well advised to upgrade immediately, from the panel , or via FTP.
