DropBox is getting social! – Now allows users to comment
DropBox seems to be moving towards a more social nature after deciding to enrich the features it offers to users of the service, allowing comments on files shared in the cloud.
The goal of the commenting that will be allowed is to be a tool to increase productivity in many cases. As it is clarified, comments will be able to appear in a separate field, in the preview menu of each file in the cloud. At the same time, each DropBox user will be informed with an email every time a new comment is created on one of their files, while at the same time the possibility of mentions and the use of the @ symbol before a name is offered, that is, with the logic of Twitter.
Of course, any user who does not wish to use the new feature can completely deactivate it through their account and activate whenever needed.
With the new commenting feature that DropBox is now adding to its file sharing system, a discussion can take place on a given file, an element that is expected to greatly help business users, as well as those who collaborate with others remotely.
Initially, the commenting feature will be offered on the web version of DropBox, and will later be made available for the service's mobile applications on all operating systems.
