Dropbox , the popular online storage system, announced that it has fixed a security flaw that could potentially allow hackers to access user data stored on Android devices through third-party apps.
Dropbox, which has more than 300 million users, said it fixed the bug through software it provides to third-party app developerswho work with Dropbox. The service said developers should upgrade to the latest version of the software.
Dropbox's announcement adds that there are no reports or indications that hackers used the flaw to gain access to user data.
The vulnerability was discovered by researchers at Business Machines Corp, who notified Dropbox.
