The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate arrested a foreigner for child pornography via the internet
The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate arrested, within the framework of the ongoing investigation, a 37-year-old foreigner, a Polish citizen, against whom a case was filed for child pornography via the internet.
Specifically, in the context of a digital police investigation by officers of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, an unknown user was identified on an internet website who was distributing hard-core child pornography.
The Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office was informed of the above, which issued a prosecutor's order, from which the details of the arrested person emerged.
In a search carried out today (2-2-2015) at his home in Athens, in the presence of a Public Prosecutor, a laptop computer was found and seized, on which numerous files (photographs and videos) were found, a fact for which the ex parte procedure was applied.
The seized laptop computer will be sent to forensic laboratories for further examination.
The arrested person, with the case file filed against him, will be brought tomorrow (03-02-2015) to the Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office.
