The Debian team has announced the official release of Debian 7.8 , which is immediately available for download. The release incorporates many security fixes and a small number of important changes.
The next version of Debian 8.x is not yet ready and it is not clear exactly when it will be, but it is expected to be released in the coming months.
This release does not include the ''Live'' version, which is expected in the next few days, but only the installer. The good news is that you do not need to download this version if you already have the previous one installed. A simple upgrade will give you the desired result.
According to its creators, the update mainly includes fixes for security issues, as well as some adjustments to serious problems. They also report that a new version of ClamAV has been updated, Digikam has been upgraded, the Linux is now version 3.4.105, and NVIDIA drivers have been updated.
