Clonezilla Live , a Linux distribution based on DRBL, Partclone and udpcast that allows users to perform backup and recovery in a very easy way, has been upgraded to version 2.3.1-18 and is ready for download.
The latest version is more stable and the developers have made many changes and improvements to it, and this includes a new Linux kernel, which we have been waiting for. In fact, this version is a collection of all the previous versions with the best features.
The official announcement states: The GNU/Linux operating system has been upgraded . This release is based on the Debian Sid repo (as of 2014/Dec/08)”. The developers have upgraded the Linux kernel to version 3.16.7-2, drbl is now at version 2.11.13-drbl1, Syslinux has been updated to version 6.03, the Linux kernel i486 has been replaced by the i586 version, and fake RAID/firmware RAID is now supported.
A full list of changes, improvements and fixes can be found in the official release note. You can also download Clonezilla Live 2.3.1-15 right now and run it as a Live CD without any problems. There is no GUI, but the instructions on the splash screen should be pretty self-explanatory.
