9901 Windows 10 build leaked a few days ago and many users rushed to try it even though Microsoft itself repeatedly warned that the official version was the best option for everyone.
Now, some are complaining that some anti-viruses are detecting this particular version as “malware,” which could of course raise some questions if this ISO comes from Microsoft.
Scan results from some anti-virus products on C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Wpc.dll, a file included in build 9901, classify it as infected.
Gabriel Aul , head of the Windows Insider program , said in a short tweet that it was just a false positive and there was no reason for users to worry that build 9901 could be infected with malware. “But why do we have this false positive ?” one might ask.
There is no answer to this question yet, but anti-virus are very likely to update their software in the coming days to remove this warning and prevent this particular build of Windows 10as infected.
Meanwhile, it is worth noting that Microsoft does not recommend installing this particular version and recommends that users stick with the official build of its operating system.
