Before filming began on the new James Bond titled "Spectre," some early cyberspies - hackers - appeared, ...who, as it became known, stole the film's script, as they managed to infiltrate the computers of the Sony Pictures.
As the producers of the James Bond films were informed , hackers managed to disable Sony's computer network on November 24 and steal, among other material, a version of the film's script in one of the most serious cyberattacks against a company on United States soil.
"Eon Productions is concerned that those who obtain the script from the hackers may seek to publish the content," the production company said in a statement, warning at the same time that the script is protected by copyright laws in force in Great Britain.
A Sony spokesman, however, clarified that the news that the studio has stopped all productions including that of Spectre after the cyberattack is untrue. "Our productions are running as normal," Robert Lawson told Reuters. The new James Bond sequel, titled Spectre and starring Daniel Craig as 007, is expected to be released in theaters on November 6, 2015. Filming began just this month after producer Barbara Broccoli and director Sam Mendes revealed the title, cast and new car for the film, but gave little information about the plot.
