Why Facebook shut down Messenger

Although messages on messenger exceed 10 billion per day!

To promote transparency at the company, which runs Facebook, CEO Mark Zuckerberg participated in a meeting to take questions and provide answers.

Of course, he received a multitude of questions, but the most popular of all was the question of why Facebook removed Messenger.

Let's remember that a while ago Facebook decided to close its messaging app and essentially force users to use another app, Messenger. This angered many users who did not want to use two apps. Despite the protests, Facebook Messenger hit the record of 500 million monthly active users.

So why did Facebook remove Messenger from its page? 10 billion messages are sent through Messenger per day and mobile device users are forced to open another application to send a message.

The answer came from Mark Zuckerberg, “The reason is that we believe the experience is better and we believe that messaging is increasingly important and more and more users are doing it.

"Over 10 billion messages are sent every day via Facebook," he said, emphasizing that "to get their messages, one had to open the app and then go to another category, which took several seconds. And we saw that most people use this experience exclusively,
whether it's SMS, iMessage, or another app like WhatsApp."

And he concluded by saying that he believes forcing users to move to another app will prove better in the long run.
