A group of former Google employees has created an Android app that promises to bring together conversations from a multitude of social and messenger apps in one place. The Snowball app.
Snowball was just released yesterday on Google Play and is available for free download for your device. Currently, Snowball aggregates messages from Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Hangouts, Twitter, Line, WeChat, Slack, and phone (SMS). More apps are expected to be integrated in the future.
Snowball is in no way competing with social apps that have messaging features. Its goal is to help users organize messages from the various social apps they use. Whenever a message arrives on the user's phone, Snowball notifies them via its icon, with the process being reminiscent of Facebook chat heads.
Note: It appears that Snowball is currently only available to users within the US.
Currently, the application is in beta mode and the application team managed to receive funding of $2.3 million for its development.
Finally, the Snowball team does not rule out the future release of the application on the iOS operating system.
