BlackBerry has released a new version of its BBM messenger , adding timed messages, HD photo transfers, and a message recall service. The main upgrade, however, is the increased security for users' private messages that the new version offers .
In a somewhat comedic video, the company focuses on message recall and timed messages, where users can “retract” a message they sent by mistake or to the wrong person. With timed messages, the data exchanged between users is available for a limited period of time, allowing for more free communication between users
Unlike Snapchat, which offers the same service, BBM informs the user in advance about the restrictions, thus giving the opportunity to save the message even with a screenshot.
Both of these services are available free of charge from BlackBerry for a limited time, and after three months, users who wish to do so will have to subscribe to get other services offered by the company. Depending on the region in which each person is located, the new version may already be available.
