The name Fredrik Neij may not be as familiar to you as Peter Sunde and Gottfrid Svartholm, but Neij is one of the founders of The Pirate Bay. Neij has reportedly been arrested in Asia. 
The young man was flown to Laos to avoid prison for his involvement in The Pirate Bay. Although he had been to both Laos and Thailand several times, Thai authorities only arrested him today on an Interpol warrant.
The Swede had chosen a different path than Sunde and Svartholm. He chose to move to Laos to be close to his wife and children. The fact that he lived in Laos was no secret, as it was mentioned in the documentary that was made about the Pirate Bay (TPB:AFK).
Thai media reports that US companies have reportedly hired a law firm to track down the founder of The Pirate Bay. Fredrik Neij was found to own a house on the island of Phyket in Thailand, and to be the beneficiary of a bank account containing about five million baht, or around €122,000
