Update 25/05/2017: According to a recent report by Torrentfreak it appears that ExtraTorrent.cd is a mirror of Pirate Bay disguised with the design of ExtraTorrent. (In simple terms, ExtraTorrent.cd displays torrents from Pirate Bay).
Users should be especially cautious as the immediate reappearance of torrent sites may hide dangers!

When ExtraTorrent stopped working on May 14, 2017, most believed that something more than a simple system bug was hidden. SAM, the owner of ExtraTorrent, confirmed our worst fears on May 17, leaving a message on ExtraTorrent that it is shutting down permanently.
This news was quite a shock for the torrent. And as if that wasn't enough, it was also announced that The Pirate Bay and KickAss Torrents had been blocked in some countries like Australia. However, today we have some good news for torrent lovers.
Is ExtraTorrent returning?
The ExtraTorrent appears to be returning !!! This is the message that the former admin of the now-closed ExtraTorrent sent. According to the message, a group of people who claimed to be former administrators and uploaders of the former ExtraTorrent «revived» the dead Extratorrent.cc. In fact, its new name is ExtraTorrent.cd.
Taking a look at ExtraTorrent.cd, it appears to be a clone of the former ET. The search engine is equally good as that of the previous ExtraTorrent.
“We are a team of uploaders & admins from ExtraTorrent. As you know, SAM from ExtraTorrent shut down the site under pressure from the authorities. We were deeply shocked and worked hard to get back online with all previous data,” the message says.
“We have successfully restored the glory of the old site on extratorrent.cd, with all the available data. It is live and new data is updated continuously. Some small functions are not yet implemented, however this will be fixed.”
While the recently resurrected ExtraTorrent.cd is great news for the torrents community, please be quite cautious, as SAM had warned about clones and copycats that could emerge after the collapse of ExtraTorrent.
