Most sites create user communities by leveraging the free use of various Social Networks, with the most popular being Facebook, Twitter and Google+. This means that site visitors resort to third-party sites to discuss. A new service, Spot.IM, promises to turn any site into a Social Network for free!
Site administrators simply add an HTML code to their page to display an icon somewhere on the edge of their page that adds Social Networking features to the page. This icon opens a box in which site visitors can publicly and privately with each other, connecting to a Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or LinkedIn account.
Each user has their own profile through which they can connect to many Spot.IM communities on various sites, their own notifications, their own friendships, and even their own username through which other users can mention them in discussions.
From the administrator's perspective, Spot.IM allows the expulsion of users who do not comply with the rules set by each site, as well as the filtering of words, images, phone numbers, etc.
Spot.IM, which works on both mobile devices and computers, allows site visitors to chat with each other about their favorite site, creating new acquaintances and helping the site's community grow.
