Twitter now removes photos and videos after a user's death

Following the death of actor Robin Williams, his daughter, Zelda Williams, has come under heavy attack from certain Twitter, prompting her to delete her profile and leave the 140-character social network. Much of the attack involved posting doctored photos of Robin Williams in connection with his death.twitter-death

The publicity surrounding the previous issue prompted Twitter to review its policy on photos and videos of deceased users. More specifically, the family or authorized individuals of a deceased user can now email privacy@twitter.com requesting the removal of photos and videos of the user.

Finally, Twitter will review each request for removal of visual content, as it may not be able to satisfy all requests due to public interest or other reasons.
