The world's fastest internet connection has become a reality at the Technical University of Denmark, with researchers transferring 43 terabits per second through a single optical fiber and laser transmitter.
This speed is the fastest we've seen to date and in simple terms it means it can transfer 5.375 gigabytes per second, or even more simply, an entire DVD movie in less than 1 second..
With this creation, the Danes broke the record set by the Germans in 2011, with a connection that transferred 26 terabits per second and was created by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
Of course, these speeds are not available to the general public, since as announced, this connection will not be validated before 2017.
