It's not a SmartWatch, but it's pretty close.
Glance is a novel wristband accessory that can effectively turn a regular watch into a smartwatch. Designed by Kiwi Wearables, a startup based out of Toronto, Canada, Glance can be worn behind a regular watch and synced with a smartphone.
The device can notify the user of incoming calls or text messages, track motion and be used as a remote control for a smart TV, according to the device's information page
Unlike many smartphones, which can only last a few hours with optimal use, the Glance's designers built it to last for a week without a charge. When its power is low, the battery can be easily recharged via the USB port, just like any other device.
The Glance also uses a 3D motion sensor to measure movement. For example, it can tell you how many steps you've taken or how many miles you've cycled. It also has the added bonus of being waterproof.
The team behind Glance is looking to raise $150,000 in funding in July. So far, it has nearly 500 participants who have collectively deposited just over $41,000.
