The South Korean company's new health gadget is called Simband and consists of a wearable device that resembles a smartwatch that is connected to a series of sensors that measure heart rate, pressure, breathing, skin hydration, blood glucose concentration, and can analyze the composition of the air.
Then, if necessary, the platform, called SAMI, that supports the device, will be able to alert the user to potential health risks based on the above data, and share the information it has collected with a doctor or diagnostic center.
According to the BBC, Samsung collaborated with a nanotechnology company from Belgium and researchers from the University of California, to present this "exploratory" system, as it called it, which opens up new perspectives in the field of health and early diagnosis of diseases.
