Computers are now found in every work environment, in every home, and bright screens that are just a few centimeters from our eyes tire us and can cause vision problems..
It is essential to know what you can do to protect your eyes as much as possible from the harmful effects of prolonged computer use.
According to research by "The Vision Council", approximately 70% of people who sit eight or more hours a day in front of a screen (e.g. at work) experience vision problems.
Here are some simple things you can do when the hours on the computer pile up:
-Reduce the glare on your screen by keeping it clean. Also, make sure it is the brightest object in the room where you are sitting and that the sun's rays are reflected directly off the glass. Also, a gray background is easier on your eyes than white.
-Sit at least an arm's length away from the screen. Make sure it is positioned lower than your eye level and ideally at a slight viewing angle towards you.
-Remember to blink your eyes (blink). Our brains tend to ignore this otherwise unconscious function when focused on a screen.
-Look away from the screen completely every 20 minutes at most. Focus for about 20 seconds on something 5-6 meters away from you.
-Ask yourself if it's worth buying a pair of glasses exclusively for use on the computer screen, with special filters that will protect your eyes even better.
