While analyzing suspicious websites, security researchers from Blue Coat spotted a site called videolocked.pw. The domain name hinted at something suspicious, but when they visited it, the page only displayed a message that said, “You don’t belong here.”
However, that doesn't mean the website is innocent. A closer look reveals that many videos on Blogspot websites contained links to videolocked.pw.
Experts have concluded that the website is part of a scam operated by cybercrooks who want to trick users into divulging personal information, completing surveys, and possibly even installing adware.
Every time surveys are completed, the scammers who run the business make some money. The email addresses and other personal information they collect can be sold on black markets or used in spam campaigns.
