On a Twitter account/X used to provide updates on Google products in Japan, the company is hinting that a “Japan-exclusive” Google Pixel device is set to be released tomorrow, April 7. The teaser implies that the new model brings “an artistic special spec.”
An accompanying image shows the date April 7th and in Japanese, it says this is a “limited release model in Japan.”
Behind that is a dark blue color, darker than the Pixel 10's Indigo color. And that tells us what this probably is.

Developer @evowizz on Twitter/X shared that Google is preparing a “dark blue” variant of the Pixel 10a, which aligns with Google’s teaser. There hasn’t been much buzz beyond this one post, so it’s hard to say for sure if this will materialize.
The Google Pixel brand has seen some success in the Japanese market, especially with its A-series models. The Pixel 7a, in particular, was a big hit in the country, so creating a limited edition color variant in the country makes some sense for attracting a little extra attention in the region.

In other regions, the Pixel 10a remains available for $499 (or local pricing) in Berry, Lavender, Obsidian, Tesla, and Fog.
