According to a recent IDC report, Japan is investing in public IT clouds, increasing related spending by 45% compared to last year.
Total spending in 2012 amounted to €681 million. Furthermore, IDC expects further growth in spending (of the order of 28% year-on-year), so that total spending by 2017 will amount to €2.27 billion.
Public IT clouds are primarily used for automatic backups, mobile device support, log management, social networking, and more.
Cloud computing is a technology that has been widely used in recent years and many applications now rely on it, which fully justifies Japan in this sector.
