After launching Voice Typing Dictation for Mac last month, Speechify continues its quest to evolve beyond an AI-powered text-to-speech platform. Today, the company is releasing its AI Voice Assistant to iOS, after previously only being available in Chrome and the web.

Speechify says that with the launch of its general-purpose AI Voice Assistant on iOS, it is ready to compete with platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Siri, and Alexa. To this end, Speechify leverages a combination of third-party models, as well as internal models developed by more than 40 researchers and engineers in its applied AI research lab.
With the app, iPhone users can now use natural language to browse the web, have conversations based on the content of files and documents, create podcasts based on those documents, and even ask the assistant to review, teach, or summarize content for them through multi-round conversations.

Speechify CFO Pankaj Agarwalcommented on the launch, stating that Speechify is now an AI Assistant that can research for you, talk to you, write for you, create for you, entertain you, examine you, browse the web for you, teach you, summarize for you, and read for you. He emphasized that the future of AI Assistants across all use cases will be voice-driven, and that Speechify will succeed because of its voice-first approach.
The mission is to enhance productivity and joy across the spectrum of work, learning and everyday life.
While Speechify's AI Voice Assistant is currently cloud-based, the company is working on implementing models on the device in future updates, as well as supporting more complex commands, managing notifications, and automating tasks like answering and making phone calls based on pre-defined prompts from users.

The company believes that today's launch will help it achieve its goal of becoming the world's most popular AI Assistant, serving every possible use case from work to learning and entertainment.
