PlayStation has announced that cloud streaming is officially rolling out to PlayStation Portal, following a beta testing period that began last year. Starting today, PlayStation Premium Plus members will be able to stream select titles from their own library without needing to connect to their PS5 console. The device also features an updated menu, with three tabs: Remote Play from your PS5, cloud streaming , or search.

At launch, thousands of PS5 games support Cloud Streaming, including major titles like Astro Bot, Borderlands 4, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Fortnite, Ghost of Yōtei, Grand Theft Auto V, and Resident Evil 4.

Cloud streaming on PlayStation Portal: Hundreds of games compatible
Additionally, hundreds of compatible games from the PlayStation Plus Games Catalog and Classics Catalog, including Cyberpunk 2077, God of War Ragnarök, Hogwarts Legacy, Sword of the Sea and The Last of Us Part II Remastered, are also available to stream directly from the cloud.
There is a list of over 2000 games that will be available for cloud streaming at launch.

Cloud streaming is a major addition for PlayStation Portal users, allowing them to enjoy their favorite games without the need to physically have a PS5 console. This means users can access a vast library of games from anywhere, as long as they have a stable internet connection. This new feature opens up new horizons for the gaming experience, offering greater flexibility and convenience for players.

Extra improvements
In addition to cloud streaming, PlayStation Portal is also receiving other useful updates, including new support for 3D audio, access to accessibility options and in-game stores, a passcode feature, and other features.
Support for 3D audio delivers a more immersive gaming experience, allowing users to enjoy their games with high-quality sound that adapts to their environment. At the same time, the new passcode feature adds an extra layer of security, ensuring that only authorized users can access PlayStation Portal content.

The launch of the new features is a strategic move by Sony to strengthen its presence in the game streaming services market, competing with other platforms that offer similar services. With the addition of cloud streaming, Sony makes PlayStation Portal a more attractive option for gamers looking for flexibility and variety in their gaming experience.
