The news comes a day after OpenAI's ChatGPT Go program, which costs less than $5, expanded to Indonesia. Notably, India, where OpenAI introduced ChatGPT Go, is absent from Google's list.
Both companies offer a basic plan that costs $20 per month, but with these new, more affordable subscription tiers, they're trying to reach more paying in parts of the world where a $20 subscription might be considered expensive.

By launching AI Plus in over 40 countries, Google is clearly showing that it is not limited to its traditional markets of North America and Europe, but is actively targeting emerging markets where access to advanced AI tools has been limited until now. This strategy has two main goals: first, to expand its user base in areas where subscription costs can be a barrier, and second, to build long-term connections with businesses and educational institutions interested in AI-based productivity and creativity solutions.

This move shows that Google sees artificial intelligence not only as a technological advantage, but also as a means to strengthen its global presence and user loyalty, gradually expanding its ecosystem of services into new and dynamic markets.

In general, this move can be considered a response to the growing competition in the field of artificial intelligence, where many companies are trying to gain market share by offering innovative solutions at affordable prices.
