Social networking platform X (formerly Twitter) is now allowing select content creators to upload videos in 4K resolution, in an effort to boost user engagement and prevent them from leaking to competing platforms like YouTube or Vimeo. announced in a post on the platform that the feature will soon be extended to all premium subscribers.

Previously, paid users could upload videos in 1080p quality, with a maximum file size of 8GB and a duration of up to about three hours. Now, support for 4K content may bring changes to file size limits as well.
