Kim Kardashian recently posted videos of her interactions with Tesla 's latest products , which were showcased at the "We Robot" event last month.

On X, Kardashian shared a clip with the caption "Meet my new friend," referring to artificial intelligence Optimus , which stole the show at Warner Brothers Studios in October 2024.

In the video, Optimus performs impressive moves that amaze the Skims founder. There is speculation that Kim Kardashian may have been invited to provide free advertising for her beloved brand, as Tesla investor Sawyer Merritt claimed to his 774,000 X followers.
Merritt commented that “given that Kim Kardashian earns about $2 million per sponsored post, today she made about $10 million in free advertising for Tesla to her 435 million followers on X and Instagram.”.
It remains unknown whether Optimus operates autonomously, though Merritt noted that it is likely controlled by someone. It is clear that the Optimus in the video does not belong to Kim Kardashian, as she has posted other videos featuring new Tesla products. On Instagram, she shared stories with her nearly 400 million followers, showing off a unique gold Optimus robot and a gold version of the Cybercab, one of Tesla's autonomous taxis. Kardashian described the Cybercab as "crazy," asking, "So you get in and there's no driver?", to which the answer was, "There's no driver."

The Cybercab and the latest version of the Optimus robot, which is (partly) powered by artificial intelligence, were unveiled at the “We Robot” event, attracting media attention. Like the robot in Kim’s videos, many of Tesla’s Optimus robots have been controlled by humans, which has disappointed some fans. However, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said they have made progress on the robot’s development and shared a video showing its autonomous capabilities. The Optimus robots are expected to cost around $20,000-$30,000.

During the event, Musk explained that some new products, such as the Cybercab, won't be available until 2027, a timeline that is considered optimistic. The Cybercab is expected to cost around $30,000, well within Kim Kardashian's budget.
