Juna.ai , a German startup founded in 2023, uses artificial intelligence (AI) to automate and improve industrial processes in energy-intensive industries, such as chemicals, steel, and paper production .

Its goal is to increase productivity, reduce energy consumption and emissions, using reinforcement learning models trained with historical data and open source tools such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.

The company offers personalized AI agents that help operators make optimal machine settings, incorporating data from sensors for parameters such as temperature, pressure and product quality. This allows industries to reduce waste and improve operations without necessarily reducing human resources.

With a $7.5 million investment from Kleiner Perkins and Norrsken VC, Juna.ai plans to double its technical team. It is also developing pre-built agents that adapt faster to new customers, while maintaining high levels of security and data protection within Germany.

Although it currently functions as a “passenger” that provides recommendations to operators, technology may in the future enable fully automated operations, with the aim of creating “smart factories.”
