The release date and pre-order information for Sonic x Shadow Generations has been revealed, the Sonic the Hedgehog platformer that brings back the beloved Sonic Generations with updated graphics and additional bonus content, while adding an all-new journey with new abilities for the Ultimate Life Form – Shadow the Hedgehog.
The 3D Platformer game, Sonic X Shadow, arrives on PlayStation and Steam for Windows this October, offering players high-speed action and platforming challenges that are only possible in the Sonic universe.

The trailer released today gives a glimpse into Sonic and Shadow's respective adventures and intense challenges, including a first look at exciting new levels and Shadow's new powers. Sonic x Shadow Generations is sure to deliver a high-speed heroic experience.

Shadow's return also brings the return of his nemesis, Black Doom, who threatens to take over the world once again. You must harness Shadow's new powers and travel back in time in his own standalone campaign to face enemies and complete mind-bending platforming challenges to thwart Black Doom's evil plans. Players will witness Shadow's dark origins and explore an all-new hub world inspired by the open-zone gameplay of Sonic Frontiers, gaining new powers and discovering hidden secrets throughout the area.

Sonic Generations also receives a graphical upgrade and remains a “greatest hits” collection for Sonic fans old and new, combining nostalgic 3D and 2D Sonic stages from across generations with upgraded visuals and cinematics. You can also enjoy new collectibles, bonus content and more, including a Chao rescue mission in every level and the return of the high-energy pool game in the Casino Nights Zone.

Sonic x Shadow Generations will be released on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in both a regular and Digital Deluxe edition. The Digital Deluxe edition gives fans the chance to play the game three days early. It also offers iconic bonus music from previous Sonic and Shadow games, a Terios skin based on Shadow's original concept, behind-the-scenes sketches, an additional level and skin for Shadow, and more.

You can also pre-order Sonic x Shadow Generations before launch to receive a legacy skin for Sonic based on his appearance from Sonic Adventure. Additionally, players who pre-order the Day One Physical Edition will receive Gerald Robotnik's Diary, a 28-page book that documents Gerald's innermost thoughts and plans during the creation of Shadow and the Ark Space Station – a must-have item for fans eager to learn more about Shadow's background! Exclusively for PlayStation, players who purchase the game on PS4 or PS5 will also receive additional prologue animations featuring previously unseen deleted scenes.
