Ayaneo has confirmed more specs for the Pocket S, more than five months after the device was first teased. To recap, the company revealed initial details about the Pocket S towards the end of August 2023, such as the presence of a Snapdragon G3x Gen 2. It then released renders of the device, as well as gameplay footage that it delivered in late 2023.

Overall, Ayaneo has now identified the following new specifications:
- 6″ IPS display , 2,560 x 1,440 , 400 nits
- Up to 16GB RAM/1TB storage
- 15 W power consumption for the SoC
Overall, the Pocket S is shaping up to be a competitor to the Ayan Odin2, another 6-inch Android gaming handheld that uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Theoretically, the Pocket S should be about 20% faster than the Odin2, though that's Qualcomm's only official estimate. However, the Pocket S will be significantly more powerful than the Pocket Air, which Ayaneo sells with the Dimensity 1200 processor.

For now, the company expects to provide more details about the Pocket S in April. However, it also hopes to release the Pocket S in December 2023, so we should approach the indications that the Pocket S will be released in April 2024 with caution. Either way, the Indiegogo campaign for the gaming handheld is already available for preview.
