Google today announced two changes to AdSense , but without predicting any changes to publisher earnings or payments.

Today, Google pays publishers every time someone clicks on an ad on their site, known as a “per click.” Soon, AdSense will also introduce “per impression” payment, which is the industry standard for display ads (banners, boxes, etc.), as Google points out.
This will give publishers a more consistent way to pay for their advertising space across Google products and third-party platforms, helping them compare with other technology they use.
It is noted that this change will have no impact on the type or quantity of ads that publishers can display on their sites.
At the same time, Google is also making changes to the AdSense revenue structure, offering a simpler way to charge without the need for processing through a single transaction.
We are now breaking down AdSense revenue sharing into different pricing tiers for buying and selling. When serving ads with AdSense for content, publishers will receive 80% of the revenue after the ad platform, whether it is a marketplace or a third-party platform, pays out.
According to Google, publishers will keep about 68% of their revenue.
For example, when Google Ads buys display ads on AdSense, it keeps an average of 15% of the advertiser's spend. There are variations, as Google Ads does not charge a fixed cost per impression, but often chooses to pay based on user actions, such as clicks or conversions.
The changes will go into effect early next year and require no action from publishers. Google said it has tested potential changes to publisher revenue, but does not anticipate any changes to the current situation.
