Baldur's Gate 3: How to save Zevlor from Moonrise Towers

Baldur's Gate 3

Starting Baldur's Gate 3, you'll quickly be introduced to Zevlor, a former Hellrider commander and resilient leader of the tiefling refugees. Early on, he helps repel a goblin attack on the Druid Grove, standing as a bastion of honor and valor.

However, in Act 2, rumors from the surviving refugees at the Last Light Inn suggest that Zevlor has surrendered to the Absolute's forces. If you're looking for answers, though, you'll have to be patient: Zevlor won't be joining the other tiefling prisoners and Wulbren in Moonrise Prison—he's trapped beneath them.

Where is Zevlor in Moonrise Towers?

Zevlor was captured during an attack and is being held in the Tadpoling Center below Moonrise Towers. You cannot access this area unless you have first defeated Ketheric Thorm on the rooftops of Moonrise Towers. After defeating Ketheric Thorm, head north to the Tadpoling Center (X:691, Y:14), where you will find rows of Mindflayer capsules.

Zevlor is in one of the capsules in the eastern row (second from the north). You can rescue Wulbren and the imprisoned tieflings once you reach Moonrise Towers.

How to save Zevlor in Moonrise Towers

You can free Zevlor from his capsule by using the Neural Device in the north of the room. Opposite Zevlor are two Burning Fist soldiers who were guarding Grand Duke Ravengard. However, every other person in the capsules has been transformed into a Mindflayer. Freeing Zevlor will free them all at once and attract the aggression of all Intellect Devourers in the area.

If you have decided to save him, select the Release option on the device and prepare for a fierce battle against Mindflayers and Intellect Devourers. After the battle, Zevlor will admit that he succumbed to the Absolute's promises of power, having lost faith in his ability to protect his people after being exiled from Elturel with them.

You can comfort him or condemn him for his error of judgment, but regardless, he will offer to lead the remaining survivors safely out of the Tadpoling center.
