Zoom is upgrading its video conferencing platform with the integration of artificial intelligence. The video conferencing platform is partnering with OpenAI to create a feature that expands on Zoom IQ’s current capabilities by “summarizing chat threads, organizing ideas, composing content for conversations, emails and whiteboard sessions, creating meeting agendas and more,” Zoom said in its press release.

Zoom IQ was introduced as “conversation intelligence software” for using Zoom meetings and customer interactions on the phone to predict revenue growth and improve employee productivity.

The AI feature revolutionizes the workflow process, ensuring that employees never miss any information from meetings and assisting managers by generating questions relevant to the topics of discussion . In addition, it relieves employees of the stress associated with message overload – especially if they stray from the conversation – by providing a detailed summary of what may have been missed.
The video conferencing platform is launching the AI feature by invitation only to select customers in April. Those customers will have access to Zoom IQ chat composition and email composition, and added that the meeting summary features will be available to users broadly, but did not provide further information explaining who will have access.

Other additional features include Calendar and Mail apps that allow users to access both within the Zoom app and provide access to third-party calendars.
