WhatsApp: Restricts users' ability to select all options in polls

WhatsApp is taking steps to improve the experience by introducing the ability to limit users to a single option in polls. Until now, you could choose either multiple or all available options. In the coming weeks, the Meta will be updated to include this new change. However, the current multiple-choice option will remain intact. Poll creators will be able to decide whether they want respondents to be able to select just one or all options.

Last year, WhatsApp revolutionized the app with the addition of a polling feature. After a few months of rigorous beta testing, the feature was rolled out to all users in November. Polls can be used to communicate with both individuals and groups, although they are especially useful when engaging in larger conversations. While it may not be necessary for everyone, many find this feature incredibly useful in a variety of situations. Companies can effectively conduct surveys using the app’s polls, which provide up to 12 possible different options.

However, there is one downside to WhatsApp polls – users are given the option to select every available option. It’s possible that the company skipped or rushed the feature to roll out to the public. This made the purpose pointless in many cases, as instead of selecting one option, users would select all of them. After numerous requests to limit polls to one option per user, WhatsApp listened and responded.

WABetaInfo discovered that the latest beta version of the app has a toggle to limit polls to a single option. When creating a poll, you can toggle the toggle below the list of possible answers for participants. This will limit their choices to just one. If you want to keep a variety of options, all you have to do is turn off the toggle before sharing your poll. This simple yet powerful feature makes WhatsApp polls much more useful and engaging!

Android users can get a taste of the new beta feature of version 2.23.6.16 of the app today! In the near future, the company will officially launch the new toggle feature to the public after ensuring that it is reliable and ready to use. Stay tuned for a WhatsApp update on your Android gadget!
