Starting today, users will be limited to the redesigned Gmail. However, with Google's quick settings menu, you can change your inbox theme and type at any time.
For some Gmail users, this change may seem drastic. Emails will still be front and center, but they’ll be shifted to the right side of the screen — making room for a new sidebar on the left that consists of quick links to Chat, Spaces, and Meet. As a result, email and label options have moved slightly.
Moving away from the Meet and Chat interface, users will now see a right-hand sidebar that provides quick access to additional Google services, such as Calendar, Tasks, and Keep – all without having to switch windows or tabs.
The company also points out that all notifications will be organized in a single location, with bubbles indicating when you have an unread message or a conversation to respond to.
